English radio and television host Adam Martin Catterall (born May 22, 1981) is best recognized for his coverage of boxing and the UFC. In addition to being the principal presenter of UFC Open Mat on BT Sport, he hosts Fight Night on Talksport, the national radio station of the UK. He is a co-founder of the Fight Disciples podcast brand, which has won several awards. At the age of 24, local radio station Rock FM hired Catterall as their nightly host, launching his radio career. He moved swiftly through their schedule, and in November 2006 he was named the host of the breakfast program. The first of many professional honors came when he has crowned the UK’s commercial radio broadcaster of the year in 2007. Before the summer of 2012, when he started working in sports as a presenter at the London 2012 Olympic Games, Catterall was a regular on BBC Radio 1. He hosted his debut program there in April 2011. Catterall has been a regular contributor to Talksport since 2014, and she has subsequently spearheaded their coverage of the UFC and boxing.
Early Years
Adam Catterall, who was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, attended St. Bede’s Roman Catholic High School there from 1992 to 1997. He continued on to St. Mary’s College in Blackburn to pursue A-level studies. Up until 2001, Catterall worked for a computer distribution company in Accrington while DJing in nightclubs around the nation.

On New Year’s Day 2005, Adam was granted his first opportunity to host his own radio show on 97.4 Rock FM after spending over a year sending demos to the then-program controller, Brian Paige. Adam supplied two weeks of vacation coverage for the station’s overnight show in April of that year. The presenter who was on vacation was not requested to return due to Adam’s strong performance, and Adam was given the opportunity to sign on as the show’s regular host. The same thing occurred once more in June when Adam was requested to cover the evening program (7 p.m. to 10 p.m.) and was immediately awarded the position on a permanent basis.

Adam started his voice-over profession after briefly quitting the radio. His voice has maintained continuity on SKY 1 and ITV2. But, he is most known in this industry for providing the original voice of Fox in the Foxy Bingo radio and TV commercials. In 2017, Adam quit providing the voice for the animated character.

Adam was granted the chance to fulfill a childhood goal of joining the BBC Radio 1 team in April 2011. Although Adam liked his time working for the national station, it was clear that his own goals were unlikely to be achieved. Adam found herself stuck in a position without advancement after a change in management promised the BBC to trust a recruiting push towards younger presenters, and in June 2012 he saw the chance to pursue his career elsewhere.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Adam was requested to present a number of live events at Excel London. He served as the in-house stadium announcer for a number of sports, including boxing, weightlifting, table tennis, and judo. Adam was motivated by this summer to leave music radio and seek a career as a sports journalist.
